R U OK? Day

Middle

This year’s R U OK? Day at KGS Middle Section was a remarkable event, filled with activities that encouraged students to connect with one another, promote mental health awareness, and build a supportive school culture.

In the lead-up to the event, the Student Council worked tirelessly to create excitement through a

Pep Rally, which set the tone for the day. The rally was a lively affair, filled with cheers, motivational speeches, and a collective call to action for the entire student body to embrace the values of empathy, kindness, and mental well-being. The energy from this event fuelled anticipation and made sure everyone was ready to participate.

One of the standout activities was the Handprint Painting Stall, where students used yellow paint to leave their handprints on a yellow chart paper. The board, filled with handprints from students across all grades, became a powerful visual representation of unity and warmth—a symbol of our collective support for each other’s mental health.

At the Anonymous Pupil Hunt, students wrote heartfelt, anonymous notes on yellow paper to

anyone in the school, offering kind words or encouragement.

The Information and Resource Booth was another important feature of the day, providing students with access to brochures, flyers, and contact information of the school pastoral care team.
