The annual 2023-2024 English Choral Elocution event,  unfolded on Thursday, October 12, 2023. This year’s competition was nothing short of delightful, as each year and section presented their chosen poems, and the winning teams left an indelible mark on the audience.

Our distinguished judges, Mrs. Roshan J. Muncherjee, Mr. Samhan Ghazi, and our very own student judge, Ziyad Farooqui, lent their expertise and unique perspectives to the event. Mrs. Muncherjee’s 44-year legacy at our school added a touch of nostalgia and wisdom to the occasion. Mr. Samhan Ghazi, with his extensive experience in education and the performing arts, was a valuable addition to the panel, bringing a fresh dimension to the event.

In Year VII, the winning team, Team VII-W, with Annaya Kashif, Mustafa Sajid Penwala, Emre Ashraf, and Saba Altaf, captivated us with their recitation of “Don’t be Silly” by Dave Moran. In Year VIII, the champions, Muhammad Shahzain Khan, Myra Hashmi, Abdul Rafay Arain, Ihaab Arain, and Rayyan Shehzad, stirred our souls with “And Still I Rise” by Maya Angelou. The Yaer IX winners, Ayezah Mughal, Shanzeh Zehra, Mishal Sohail, Hassan Habib, and Daud Ahmed Siddiqi, delivered a powerful rendition of “Cry Freedom” by Aurelio S. Alvero. They also bagged the Overall Winning Team award.
