At the Kindergarten and Junior Section, children’s wellbeing is nurtured with the same care and importance as their academic growth. With a year-round focus on supporting each child’s overall development, the KG and JS counsellor works closely with students across all year groups, using gentle, age-appropriate activities to help them express themselves and feel supported in a kind and trusting environment.
In Years III and IV, children took part in a drawing activity where they created illustrations of people. This simple yet expressive task gave the counsellor a glimpse into how children see the world and how they might be feeling. They also enjoyed a word game where they responded with the first thought that came to mind. These thoughtful activities helped reveal underlying emotions, making it easier to offer support where needed.
Kindergarten children joined in play sessions using toys like kitchen sets and art materials, helping them feel relaxed and safe. These warm, familiar moments encouraged bonding with the counsellor and eased separation worries—especially for Nursery children adjusting to a new environment away from their parents.
Individual sessions with the counsellor have also been ongoing for children from Nursery to Year VI, with regular follow-ups to provide consistent care. Classroom visits and gentle observations of children who may need extra support are part of this responsive and nurturing approach. Parents are kept closely informed and are valued partners in supporting each child’s emotional journey.
All of these efforts reflect the Kindergarten and Junior Section’s deep commitment to helping children feel happy, secure, and supported—so they can grow and learn with confidence every day.
