A Tuck Shop was set up for Nursery children as a follow up activity of the Math lesson on ‘Money’. It offered an excellent reinforcement of the value of coins (Rs.1.00. Rs.2.00 & Rs.5.00) and through this hands-on experience, they developed an understanding of checking  prices and buying things.

Buying snacks with pretend money in a tuck shop not only reinforced the value of coins, but also provided a valuable opportunity for children to apply their math skills such as counting and using ‘money’ vocabulary, and also making choices about what to buy in a fun and interactive way while enjoying a tasty treat.

The enjoyment of buying snacks added a fun and motivating element to the activity, making it even more effective in capturing children’s interest and keeping them engaged in the learning process.
