The Nursery ‘Pretend Sleepover’, held on the 7th and 8th of May was an endearing display of colourful pyjamas, squashy pillows and cuddly toys! This fun and enjoyable activity is one of the most eagerly awaited events in the Nursery calendar!
The Music room was transformed into a makeshift bedroom, lights were dimmed and blinds were drawn,as a calming bedtime story was read out. The children were encouraged to carry out simple tasks on their own, such as putting on their pyjamas, tidying away their things, and of course taking a nap together.
After waking up to the sound of a soft bell and participating in the general morning routine of washing up and changing, the children enthusiastically tucked into a healthy and nutritious breakfast of fruit, buns, butter, bread, jam, omelette, juice and the highly popular warm pancakes, generously drizzled with maple syrup.
The Pretend Sleepover was indeed a wonderful way for our young learners to demonstrate their independence and gently helped to reinforce the importance of day and night routines and a good night’s rest.
