Friday, November 17th was an important and exciting day for the children of the Kindergarten Section. Each child, from the youngest to the oldest, smallest to the tallest, had the opportunity to participate in the Annual Kindergarten Sports Day. The presence of parents’ added to the festivity and spirit of the occasion.
And what a day it was! It began with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Ms. Ayesha Chundrigar, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. Children dressed in House t-shirts, carried out a well-coordinated P.E display in sync to a rousing beat. It was a wonderful demonstration of collaboration and teamwork.
The KG Sports Day celebrated the skills our young athletes achieved during P.E lessons and showcased their talent. This fun, inclusive and non-competitive occasion, was designed to encourage the children to demonstrate their prowess as individuals and teams in a coordinated and safe environment. It was a day full of running, jumping, hopping, balancing, smiles and laughter. With all of our kindergartners showing great sportsmanship, House spirit and support in cheering on their classmates and House members. There were even races for the parents, teachers and support staff, much to the delight of the children.
The day ended on a high note with Year II exhibiting their expertise in the skill run, and then making their final bow in front of the Chief Guest, as indeed this was their final Sports Day in the Kindergarten Section. Speeches from the Headmistress, Principal and Chief Guest, who highlighted the importance of animal rights and how all animals deserve care and kindness, rounded off a wonderful day of entertainment and athletic activity. The children left with a ‘sporting’ memento and lasting memories of an eventful and thoroughly enjoyable day!
A big thank you to the Sports department, teachers and support staff for contributing to the success of this special day! Well done Frere, Napier, Papworth and Streeton! We are so proud of you!
