As part of their ‘Garden Tools’ unit in Science , the Prep children explored the school garden shed, where our friendly gardener introduced them to a variety of tools, sharing how each one helps us care for our garden. From shovels to watering cans, they learned about the special role every tool plays in bringing a garden to life!
The highlight of the day? Each child got the chance to sow seeds with their own hands, using the very tools they’d just learned about! This hands-on experience allowed them to see their learning come to life right in front of them.
Here at the Kindergarten, we know that learning by doing is the best way to grow—especially in a garden! These hands-on moments spark curiosity, build confidence, and help each child connect with nature in a memorable way.
