This week in Nursery, we introduced the letter ‘د’ (daal) in the Urdu language through a delightful, interactive activity. To enrich the children’s vocabulary and deepen their understanding of the letter, we incorporated a hands-on experience that combined learning with a traditional meal.
The children enthusiastically explored words starting with ‘د’, including the word “دال” (daal). They then enjoyed a tasty serving of daal chawal, beautifully presented on a ‘دسترخوان’ (dastarkhwan) laid out on the floor. This immersive activity not only taught them about Urdu letters but also allowed them to experience the cultural significance of sitting down to eat on a dastarkhwan, all the while engaging their language and sensory skills in a fun, educational setting.
