The Middle Section’s Annual Drama Festival featured two engaging student productions — The Canterville Ghost and Gharonda. Year VI children attended the performances on Friday, 31st October, accompanied by their teachers.
The Canterville Ghost, Oscar Wilde’s classic, was brought to life with a clever mix of humour and suspense. The students were fascinated by the imaginative stage work and effects. The extended stage allowed the actors to move closer to the audience for an immersive theatre experience, while the swirling rose petals and the sound of actual rain on the stage added to the magic of the show. Even the chandelier shaking each time the ghost appeared was a fun touch that the children loved.
The Urdu play, Gharonda, gave a warm and lively picture of life in a Pakistani home. The students enjoyed the natural performances and the way familiar family moments were portrayed on stage.
The visit gave Year VI children the chance to see how teamwork, creativity, and confidence come together in performance — making the festival an enjoyable and memorable experience for all.
