Inspired by a recent national newspaper feature, Year VI children were deeply moved by the story of Rano, the Himalayan brown bear who recently received a second chance at life after being relocated from the local zoo to a sanctuary in Islamabad. Ms. Shamsie, Head of Year VI, brought the story to life through engaging discussions, exploring the challenges animals face in captivity and the hope that rescue and rehabilitation can bring.
Rano’s journey ignited the children’s creativity and compassion. With paints, markers, and boundless imagination, they crafted striking posters bursting with bold colours, powerful images, and heartfelt messages of freedom, safety, and kindness. Each poster told its own story of open skies, second chances, and a world where animals are treated with care — showcasing not only their artistic flair but also their growing social awareness.
The children’s work now fills the school foyer, transforming it into a lively, inspiring gallery of hope and advocacy. The vibrant displays instantly grab attention, spark conversation, and invite everyone to pause and reflect. Together, the posters celebrate Rano’s fresh start while sending a joyful, uplifting message: caring for animals, protecting their well-being, and treating all living beings with respect are values worth championing.
