The 29th Junior Section Annual Swimming Gala brought two days of energy, friendly competition, and House spirit to the pool on Wednesday, 28th, and Thursday, 29th October. Swimmers from Years III to VI took part, showcasing their skills and enjoying the opportunity to compete and celebrate their progress.
Wednesday belonged to Years III and IV, as our younger swimmers took to the pool to demonstrate their strokes and kicks. There was plenty of encouragement from parents, teachers, and friends as the children showed how much they had learnt and enjoyed the chance to participate.
Thursday saw Years V and VI compete in individual races, relays, and medleys. From backstroke and breaststroke to butterfly and freestyle, the swimmers gave their best, cheered on by Year VI parents, teachers, and Junior Section students. House rivalry added to the excitement, with every race bringing its share of cheers and close finishes.
While the competition was keen, the Gala was also about participation, supporting one another, and improving personal performance. The swimmers showed determination in the pool and sportsmanship throughout the event.
Streeton House emerged as this year’s champions, taking home the trophy at the close of the two-day Gala.
With swimmers of all abilities taking part and plenty of support from the poolside, the Gala was another memorable event in the Junior Section calendar.
