Junior Section Sports Day 2025

Junior

The Junior Section’s Annual Sports Day on Friday, 21st February, was a day filled with excitement, friendly competition, and school pride. Students of all ages participated, with Frere, Napier, Papworth, and Streeton competing for the coveted trophy and title of winning House.

The morning started off with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Mr.Ali Atta, co-founder and director of Football Development at Karachi United, followed by the rendering of the National Anthem by the Junior Section Band. For the first time in the JS, the Houses ‘fell in’ for the March Past, accompanied by their House Mistresses. This was followed by a lively P.E. display, featuring every child from Year III to VI showing off their moves and team spirit.

Class-based sprint races and skill-based novelty events kept the students focused on doing their best, with the excitement building as parents, teachers, and staff cheered on the athletes. There were even races for parents, teachers, and domestic staff, much to the children’s delight! The day wrapped up with an exciting, high-energy Zumba performance by Year VI, lighting up the atmosphere with the impressive skills they mastered through the movement and sports curriculum!

Sports Day was a vibrant celebration of competition, teamwork, and sportsmanship, highlighting the joy and energy that physical activity brings. The inter-house relays provided thrilling finishes, and speeches from the Headmistress and Chief Guest capped off a memorable day.

A special congratulations to Streeton House for securing the winning trophy, and to Muhammad Zaviyar Waseem (Best Athlete – Boy) and Zoya Abbas Iqbal (Best Athlete – Girl).  The Outstanding Athlete Award was presented to Haaya Rehan Malik for breaking a High Jump record which was set 24 years ago.

Reflecting a focus on inclusivity and participation, this marks the first time the Junior Section has recognized the athletic achievements of both boys and girls separately, alongside an award for outstanding achievement.

Kudos to all the students for their energy and school spirit—what a truly memorable and exciting day for the Junior Section!
