The Junior Section Concert is a highly anticipated event in our school calendar and one that is eagerly awaited by students, parents, staff and the wider school community.
The Junior Section production of Shrek was an explosion of colour and ogre -sized fun. From the toe-tapping tunes to the soul-stirring ballads, Shrek was the perfect excuse for the highly appreciative audience to take a magical trip to Duloc, with our unlikely hero Shrek, his trusted side-kick Donkey, the somewhat temperamental Princess Fiona and an assortment of fantastical creatures.
The detailing and creativity in costumes and accessories, the larger-than-life realism and symbolism of stage props, backdrops and lighting were a visual treat, with surprises around every corner- a memorable moment being the Dragon’s entry! Every performer was superb in bringing their own energy and interpretations into their characters. The slick choreography, and the harmonious blend of voices of the Junior Section choir, beautifully complemented this musical journey.
Mrs.D.F.C Mujahid, former College Section Headmistress and a KGS icon in her own right, was the Chief Guest. She was full of praise and appreciation for the show and remarked upon the colourful details and wonderful performances, congratulating and acknowledging the talent and hardwork of the children, the involvement of every Junior Section teacher and the support of a team of technical and domestic staff.
