To mark 179 years of KGS, a special Founders’ Day assembly was held in the Inner Courtyard, bringing together children from Years III to VI. As the school was closed for the weekend, the celebrations took place a day earlier, on Friday, 30th October.

Following the national anthem, Year VI students shared informative speeches about the history and rich legacy of KGS. Another highlight was the announcement of the first-ever Sports Representatives in the Junior Section, with one child appointed from each House. The announcement was met with great excitement, as the newly appointed representatives were warmly applauded and cheered by their peers and teachers.

The assembly ended with everyone singing the school song with pride.

Meanwhile, children in EY and Years I and II celebrated in their own way, singing Happy Birthday to the school and taking part in related classroom activities.

The celebrations were made even sweeter with a special treat for every child! It was a lovely way to mark KGS’s 179th birthday and celebrate the school’s rich heritage and the generations of children who have been part of its story.
