In the final weeks of the school year, a range of engaging sessions took place, focusing on children’s personal growth, wellbeing, and digital awareness. These sessions offered valuable perspectives, equipping students for the future while encouraging thoughtful, responsible decision-making in an ever-evolving world.
A Conversation on Animal Rights and Advocacy
Dedicated animal welfare activist Jude Allen spoke to the Year VI students about the importance of consistent advocacy for animal welfare. He shared how sustained efforts led to the relocation of Madhubala, the elephant, from Karachi Zoo to Safari Park, and Rano, the Himalayan brown bear, to a wildlife sanctuary in Islamabad. Mr Allen also engaged the students in an interactive discussion and commended their advocacy for animal rights through a student-led art exhibition highlighting the welfare of animals in captivity.
Digital Wellbeing
To promote digital wellbeing, Year V&VI students attended an engaging session on data privacy, phishing threats, and the responsible use of Generative AI tools. Led by Nida Shamim, an experienced professional in B2B sales and IT leadership, the session helped young learners understand how to navigate the digital world safely and thoughtfully.
Preparing for New Beginnings
To support the transition from the Junior to the Middle Section, Year V & VI students attended a ‘Growing Up’ talk in separate sessions for girls and boys. These age-appropriate discussions gently introduced the changes that come with growing up, fostering a safe and respectful space for students to ask questions and feel supported as they move into a new phase of their school journey.
Exploring Cyber Security
Year VI students attended a session on Cyber Security led by Nooruddin Khalifa, a student from the College Section. Speaking on the theme of Cyber Defenders and the Cyber Heroes of Our Time, he highlighted the growing importance of cyber security and introduced it as an exciting and rewarding career pathway. Drawing on his own experiences, he shared how he continues to pursue specialised courses alongside his studies to further develop his knowledge and skills in this rapidly evolving field.
Wellness Sessions
Year VI children also attended dedicated wellness sessions, held separately for boys and girls, where they met the school’s Wellness Counsellors. These sessions reinforced the school’s focus on student wellbeing and encouraged reflection on the importance of self-care and support during times of change.
