Early Years and Junior Section Celebrate Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day

Junior

The Early Years and Junior Section came together to celebrate Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day in traditional clothes, filled with patriotic songs and a deep sense of pride. The day was joyful, lively, and unforgettable for everyone.

The entire school community—from Nursery through Year VI, including teachers and domestic staff—gathered on the outer field, beautifully decorated with fluttering small flags and two prominent  Pakistan flags. After the hoisting of the flag there was a warm welcome from the Headmistress, Mrs. Farooq and the  Principal, Mr. Lander, then the  National Anthem was sung.

Students from Year VI delivered inspiring speeches, with the Head Boy and Head Girl addressing their fellow students. The children sang a selection of patriotic songs, enthusiastically waving their flags, accompanied by the Teacher Choir. For the first time, our Nursery children joined the large assembly—an occasion made even more special by the presence of their parents.

The event concluded with three enthusiastic cheers of ‘Pakistan Zindabad!’ but the excitement didn’t end there—during break, the children enjoyed green and white ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ ice cream, as one child joyfully exclaimed, marking a delicious and festive end to the morning.

Celebrations and patriotic cheer continued well beyond the morning assembly! From an Independence Day maths Bingo to a History comprehension on Lyari, playing traditional games like pitthu in P.E, singing national songs in Music, exploring facts about Pakistan in Urdu, and poster-making in Art, kept everyone engaged and excited. Citizenship lessons brought history to life, teaching the children about the founders of Pakistan, key milestones in the journey to Independence, and the many ways Independence Day is celebrated across the country. The activities were filled with fun, learning, and national spirit, keeping everyone inspired and engaged.

Amidst the cheer, we also marked the last day at school of a dedicated member of our domestic staff, retiring after 28 years of service — a reminder to the children of all those who help make their school life happy and safe.

It was a heartwarming day, filled with unity, gratitude, and countless smiles.
