Frere House
(Phoenix)
Named After: Sir Henry Bartle Frere
Frere House, represented by the colour red, is named in honour of Sir Henry Bartle Frere, former Commissioner of Sindh and a key figure in the early history of Karachi Grammar School. Its mascot, the phoenix, symbolises resilience, renewal, and the ability to rise stronger from challenges.
Rooted in the values of teamwork, perseverance, leadership, and school spirit, Frere House has built a strong tradition of excellence across academics, sports, and co-curricular activities.

Napier House

Named After: Sir Charles James Napier
Napier House, represented by true blue, is named after Sir Charles James Napier and is symbolised by the panther, reflecting strength, agility, and determination.
Built on the core values of unity, perseverance, and teamwork, Napier House has developed a strong and competitive presence within Karachi Grammar School across academics, sports, and co-curricular activities.
Its motto, In Unity Lies Strength, captures the essence of the House spirit—emphasising collaboration, mutual support, and collective success.

Papworth House

Named After: Mr J. L. Papworth, OBE
Established in June 1999, Papworth House is the newest addition to the Karachi Grammar School House system. It is named in honour of Mr J. L. Papworth, OBE, a long-serving member of staff who dedicated his life to the school, living and working on campus until his passing in 1988.
Represented by Cambridge blue, Papworth House reflects a spirit of resilience, inclusivity, and quiet determination. Its mascot, the shark, symbolises focus, strength, and forward momentum.
Its motto, Virtus Vincit Omnia — Courage Conquers All — captures the House’s ethos of strength, character, and perseverance.
Papworth continues to build its identity within KGS, with students contributing actively across academics, sports, and co-curricular life.
Streeton House
(Dragon)
Named After: Reverend G. B. Streeton
Streeton House, represented by the colour green, is named in honour of the Reverend G. B. Streeton, an early Chaplain of Karachi and Honorary Secretary who played a vital role in securing and establishing the school’s premises in the 1870s. Its mascot, the dragon, symbolises strength, courage, and a dynamic spirit.
Reflecting a legacy of service and dedication, Streeton House embodies a strong sense of community, responsibility, and balance across all areas of school life.
Its motto, Excelsior — Ever Upward — reflects the House’s spirit of aspiration, growth, and striving for excellence.
