Year 9 students visit the Magnifiscience Centre on 25th of September 2023 The trip to the centre was both an exhilarating and educational experience. The Science centre offers a wide range of interactive exhibits but our students attended a science show conducted by a German Science entertainer by the name of Joachim Hecker. An engineer, a science journalist, and an entertainer, Mr. Hecker has performed world-over to entice students to the field of science.
His demonstrations and explanations about how sound is conducted through the bones in our skull, how we would be able to hear ourselves chew if we had the correct device, how electricity is conducted when the circuit is complete (even if it is a human who completes that circuit) and how fake snow is created, enraptured the audience. His tagline – I do not like science because I love science – was well represented by his evident passion for the subject.
