Early Years Academic Life
During the two years of Early Years, our child-led exploratory approach nurtures each child as an individual at the beginning of their learning adventure, offering many opportunities for growth along the way. Children are introduced to concepts through art, music, and play-based collaborative activities.
As children move on from Early Years into the Junior Section (Year I and Year II), their learning is about the continued development of new skills, as well as consolidating the strong foundations already laid.
Our creative and progressive curriculum makes strong links between different areas of study through an integrated approach to learning, covering key skills for all subjects in a meaningful and engaging way.
Early Years children also enjoy opportunities to join in with the wider School community, taking part in a variety of events across the School. These include weekly assemblies, performances, sports activities, and whole School celebrations. This early integration builds confidence and eases their journey as they progress through the School.
Learning in the Early Years
Language and Literacy
Our broad and creative curriculum brings English and Urdu to life from EY1 through EY2. We promote high standards of literacy and language, equipping our young learners with the skills to think, speak, and write clearly and coherently. In the Early Years, we place strong emphasis on reading, encouraging curiosity and nurturing diversity in the children’s reading habits
Mathematical Development
In the Early Years we aim to inspire a love of Mathematics in every child. By developing mathematical skills through play and hands-on activities, children explore, learn, practice and gain confidence in their understanding of numbers, shapes, spaces and measures. The activities and lessons are differentiated, structured for different learning styles and strike a productive balance between developing sound methodology in individual work, with rich learning experiences in paired and group work.
Real Science
Science in the Early Years is exciting, engaging and thought provoking. We embrace the natural curiosity of our learners through inquiry based learning and develop enquiring minds through a variety of practical activities and explorations. Scientific investigations are done by making observations, asking questions, making predictions and building hypotheses, enabling our young scientists to develop their cognitive skills and encouraging them to analyse and draw their own conclusions.
Digital
Learning
While our aim in the Early Years is to provide students with the best e-learning opportunities through the use of technology, we are equally committed to offering a holistic approach to learning by blending traditional teaching practices with new digital experiences. Children begin to use desktops and explore a variety of apps that encourage play, improve fine motor skills, enhance creativity and imagination, and support the development of learning skills such as mouse control. New apps are also introduced to complement their curriculum in other subjects.

In the Early Years, we encourage children to be the very best they can be, while recognising that every child learns in their own unique way. Our nurturing environment allows us to identify individual strengths and areas for growth, ensuring that each child has the best opportunities to thrive. Early Years Sports Life
Physical Education
We strive to ensure that Physical Education and Games facilitate the holistic development of our students.Our weekly P.E lessons help improve coordination and develop both fine and gross motor skills. Fun and engaging warm up exercises every morning prime the body for more active movements.We teach the children the importance of good sportsmanship, focusing on having fun and doing their best.
In the Early Years, all children enjoy weekly swimming lessons in our newly refurbished on-site pool. In EY1 and EY2, the focus is on building water confidence and safety, whilst in the later year groups, children progress to learning specific strokes and developing their swimming skills.
Early Years Arts and Culture
Art, Craft and Design
The Early Years provides a well-balanced and rich art education that engages, inspires, and challenges our young learners. It equips them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent, and explore different artistic styles while developing a personal taste. Children not only enjoy the school’s art facilities during their biweekly lessons but also practice and display their talents across other subjects. Their creativity is celebrated in exhibitions and displays around the school.
Music
Here at the Early Years, music is a vital part of school life, and we value its contribution to both academic and social development. Weekly lessons bring enjoyment and fun as children sing, play musical games, and listen to a variety of music. They also have many opportunities to perform in front of an audience—from the annual Sing Along to assemblies—showcasing the joy and energy that music brings to our lives.
Beyond the Early Years Classroom
Thanks to a varied curriculum and specialist teaching in Art, Music and Language, children have the chance to develop their own unique talents in a nurturing and inspiring environment.
The Early Years Sing Along
The event is a delightful treat for both parents and students, involving every child in the Early Years. It is a wonderful occasion where pupils present a vibrant and entertaining show, filled with singing, dancing, and colourful costumes. Through this varied programme of performances, we aim to provide each child with the opportunity to build confidence, develop self-belief, and shine in their own unique way.
Co-Curricular activities
A strong and varied co-curricular programme is an integral part of the Early Years experience and takes place during school hours, allowing pupils to explore a plethora of interests. The activities complement what pupils are learning in school and support intellectual, emotional, social, creative and physical development.
- Reading week: is an annual event that motivates learners to read for pleasure and promotes language development in both English and Urdu. The Character Parade, a highly anticipated event featuring a themed dress-up day, serves as the culminating activity of Reading Week.
- Earth Day: is celebrated annually to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth’s environment. Children are motivated to adopt an eco-friendly lifestyle throughout the year.
- Fun Phonics: In the Early Years, language activities are integrated with real-world experiences to foster literacy and strengthen language skills. To support this approach, recent activities have included preparing chaat to reinforce the “cha” sound and exploring an ambulance to emphasize the “Aa” sound.
Sports Day
Sports Day embraces a non-competitive and inclusive approach. An emphasis on ‘sport for all’ enables all students to participate in a wide-ranging schedule of races and field events, giving their very best to each activity. Sports Day is a wonderful way of enabling the parents and the school to share in the joy and achievement of our young athletes.
Educational Visits
(Field Trips)
Enrichment, excitement, and gaining new skills are among the many reasons for organising school trips. All experiences are planned to sit within the curriculum and it is our aim that every child in the Early Years experiences the excitement of at least one journey away from School each year.
Community Connections
Our community service events are varied, creative, and always full of spirit! We proudly support local charities to strengthen our links within the community. Thanks to the generosity of our students and parents, we raise significant funds for worthy causes each year. Alongside our ‘home’ charities, initiatives such as the Bake Sale in support of the Blood Donation Camp, and the camp itself, we have also contributed to wider causes, including relief for flood victims in Pakistan. By caring for the community they belong to, children in the Early Years develop a deeper sense of empathy, responsibility, and respect for the world around them.
Going Green
In the Early Years , we are working to reduce our ecological footprint by adopting sustainable practices in our everyday lives. As part of our commitment to a cleaner, greener future, we are actively recycling and reducing paper usage, promoting conservation of resources and discouraging the use of single-use plastics.
