EY1 and EY2 celebrated Grandparents’ Day through special occasions that brought together two generations to share time and create lasting memories. Last week, EY2 hosted a special morning for grandparents, while EY1 welcomed grandparents throughout this week, with a different section hosting its grandparents each morning.
The children delighted their grandparents with songs and collaborative activities before presenting them with handmade tokens of love. EY1 children gifted special artwork keepsakes, while EY2 children presented handmade hearts and necklaces. Grandparents also had the opportunity to visit the classrooms and play areas, see where their grandchildren learn and play, and enjoy time together over tea and cookies.
The occasion was particularly meaningful for grandparents who are KGS alumni, as they returned to the school to be part of their grandchildren’s learning journey. The celebrations provided a lovely opportunity to strengthen family-school partnerships, build community connections and celebrate the special bond between grandparents and grandchildren.
