Bringing their Science learning to life, EY2 children explored the tools and materials used in everyday work. As part of their units, “In the Garage” and “In the Garden,” the children visited the school shed and garden to observe a carpenter and gardener at work. They watched the carpenter making a window frame that was later installed in one of their classrooms, while the gardener introduced and demonstrated the tools he uses in his daily work.
The children discussed the names and purposes of different tools, identified similarities and differences, explored natural and artificial materials, and observed how tools are used in real-life settings. These hands-on experiences helped them deepen their understanding and connect their classroom learning to the world around them.
