At Karachi Grammar School, student wellbeing sits at the heart of our community. Our Middle Section recently marked R U OK? Day, bringing students together for a vibrant, meaningful day focused on empathy, active listening, and mutual support.
The day kicked off with an engaging whole-section assembly and interactive quiz, helping students understand the power of reaching out and checking in on one another. The energy carried over into break time with high-spirit activities designed to build connections across year groups:
Speed Friending: Quick-fire icebreaker sessions that encouraged students to step out of their usual circles and spark new friendships.
Plea Card Rally: A powerful visual showcase of student-written messages promoting kindness, mental health awareness, and peer support.
Lemonade & Conversation: Students gathered over refreshing lemonade to enjoy informal check-ins and relaxed conversations.
R U OK? Day served as a gentle, empowering reminder that no one has to navigate challenges alone. By normalizing conversations around mental health, our students learned that a simple, genuine question—”Are you OK?”—can truly transform someone’s day.
