The EY and Junior Sections celebrated Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day with a lively and patriotic programme bringing together children, parents and teachers.

The celebrations began with a flag-hoisting ceremony in the outer field. Dressed in national and traditional regional attire, the children sang milli naghmay with the teachers’ choir, while Year VI students delivered speeches in Urdu and English on their hopes for Pakistan and their role in its progress. Year IV students, dressed in traditional regional clothes, added a colourful reflection of Pakistan’s rich cultural diversity. Mrs. Hussain, the Headmistress, reminded the children of their responsibility as the future leaders of Pakistan and encouraged them to contribute to the country’s progress. The Assembly ended with enthusiastic cries of “Pakistan Zindabad!” 

Throughout the week, the children had opportunities to express their pride in Pakistan through a range of creative activities.During snack time, the children enjoyed a special treat of green-sprinkled doughnuts with white icing, adding a fun festive touch to the day.  

Together, these activities gave our young children an opportunity to celebrate their Pakistani heritage, express their national pride and develop a sense of belonging and responsible citizenship.
