The 28th Junior Section Annual Swimming Gala made a big splash this year — an exciting two-day celebration of skill, confidence, and sportsmanship! Held on Thursday, 6th, and Friday, 7th November, the event brought together swimmers of every ability, each ready to make waves and showcase their progress in the pool.

For the very first time, Year III and IV swimmers took centre stage on the opening day — and what a debut it was! The poolside buzz was electric as our youngest swimmers proudly displayed their strokes, kicks, and confidence. This fun and inclusive day was all about participation, teamwork, and joy in the water — and the Year IIIs’ first-ever Gala turned into an unforgettable splash-filled celebration, cheered on by their enthusiastic parents, teachers, and friends.

The excitement soared even higher on Friday, 7th November, when Years V and VI dived into action. The pool came alive with cheers as swimmers powered through backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and freestyle, showing speed, strength, and determination. Competing with House pride on the line, students gave their all in thrilling individual races, relays, and medleys, as Year VI parents, teachers, and Junior Section children cheered them on every stroke of the way.

While competition added to the excitement, the true spirit of the Gala lay in  sportsmanship, participation, and striving for personal bests. Every dive, every lap, and every finish reflected the courage, growth, and teamwork that define our Junior Section community.

The event wrapped up in true champion style, with Frere House lifting the trophy, followed by Napier House, Streeton House, and Papworth House.

From first strokes to photo finishes, the two days were a shining reminder of what makes the Junior Section Swimming Gala such a cherished tradition — energy, enthusiasm, and the unstoppable spirit of our young swimmers!
