Job description
Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis, including variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and trend analysis. Provide insights and recommendations to management based on the analysis.
- Month-end and Year-end Close: Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
- Budgeting and Cost Control: Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor and analyze actual results against budgeted figures. Provide guidance and support in cost control initiatives.
- Internal Controls: Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations. Identify areas for process improvement and implement control enhancements.
- Audit and Taxation Support: Collaborate with auditors during external and internal audits. Prepare and provide necessary documentation and support. Assist in tax planning and compliance.
- Team Management: Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure their professional development.
Qualifications:
- Education: Qualified ACCA / CIMA or an MBA in Finance from a well-reputed university.
- Experience: 2 to 3 of experience in accounting or finance roles, progressing to a senior or supervisory position. Industry-specific experience may be preferred.
- Knowledge: Proficient understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and relevant regulations. Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy and precision in financial records and reports.
- Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills to convey financial information to stakeholders at all levels.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ethical Standards: Uphold high ethical standards and maintain the confidentiality of financial information.
