Introduction

In the Kindergarten, our curriculum focuses primarily on teaching young
children basic skills. For example, in the early years children are expected to
count up to 50, be able to recite their alphabets, recognise numbers and letters
and be capable of reading small words and sentences.
In Classes 1 and 2, they will expand their vocabulary, learn to write,
add, subtract and much more .These disciplines do not by themselves comprise the
entire menu of learning which is offered. The ‘implicit curriculum’ of character
education, teaching of moral principles, insistence on order and firm
discipline, and steady encouragement of solid work habits is very much part of
our daily teaching.
We understand that children are individuals and they bring differences of
ability and background to our school. For all children the curriculum remains
the same, but extra support is provided in the classroom to those who need it.
Student evaluation in the Kindergarten is done through individualised
student reports and parent-teacher meetings.
