* To be confirmed
Notes:
1. The precise timings of Ramazan and the Islamic holidays, such as Eid Al Fitr, are generally not confirmed until very near the actual day, sometimes only the day before, but the Sindh Government Department of Education and Literacy has published the dates when schools will be closed and these dates are those shown in the Calendar. If other holidays are announced, staff and students will be informed through the School’s website and/or by a message posted on the noticeboard in Reception. If you have NOT yet heard the official announcement of a holiday, assume classes will be held as usual.
2. The working week at Karachi Grammar School is four full days (Monday to Thursday) with a shorter day on Friday mornings. (The administration only is open on Saturday mornings unless special arrangements have been made for classes to meet.) The usual working week is therefore approximately 4.75 days. KGS operates on a two-term system. The normal academic year is from August until the end of May. Each term lasts approximately 17 weeks and there are as close to 190 planned teaching days as possible for all students in Classes I-IX. External examinations reduce the school year to around 150 teaching days in higher classes.
